Available This Week at Sunnyside Farm

We have plenty of eggs these days. With the return of the sun is the return of the eggs, and even our youngest hens are now producing tiny white shelled eggs. Our egg cartons now hold a rainbow of egg colors: brown, green and white. Beautiful! Now laying eggs: Barred Rocks, Arucanas, Minorcas, Anconas, Buff Orpingtons and Black Astralorps.

We are taking orders for a side of grass fed beef.

Thanksgiving turkeys are about half sold out, order at York's Central Market (on Saturdays) or Hershey Farmers Market (until season ends) or order from us: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

  • Chicken   ( 1 Article )
We will have chicken available again in June 2010. We allow the earth and ourselves a rest from now until the ground thaws out..as the ground just cannot absorb what the chickens produce, and does not produce anything for the birds to eat. Time to catch up on recent books, articles, etc. and to attend farm conferences for more ideas on improvement!
  • Eggs   ( 1 Article )
Eggs are available year round. The hens are affected by the amount of daylight we get: their lowest production is at the end of December when the amount of daylight is at the shortest all year. The minute daylight increases so does their egg production! But there are always eggs every day. And when it threatens to snow we have a bumper crop of eggs, seems like they lighten their load just as food becomes unavailable!
  • Turkey   ( 1 Article )
We will have turkey available again for Thanksgiving 2010. A $40 deposit will hold your bird here on the farm, with delivery right before Thanksgiving. $5 per pound for our heritage breed, moved to fresh pasture daily, hormone, antibiotic and worming medication free birds!
  • Pork   ( 1 Article )
Pigs are in a custom built pen and on the field. They are working hard tearing up the field so we can plant vegetables in the planting beds the pigs are building.
